The Italian State Theater Balletto di Milano presents the famous ballet Romeo and Juliet in Cyprus.

Eternal love that defies fate.

The story of Romeo and Juliet is a universal symbol of pure love that consistently defies social conventions and divisions in the world. It is love with a capital L, capable of breaking down barriers, overcoming time, and surviving death. Shakespeare's famous tragedy touches on eternal themes—passion, hatred, revenge—and remains relevant, continuing to touch the most intimate chords of the human soul.

In Federico Veratti's choreographic version for Balletto di Milano, the essence of Shakespeare's tragedy is revealed through a combination of classical and contemporary dance. The main characters, Romeo and Juliet, convey with particular expressiveness the power of a feeling that cannot be overcome by the power of fate. The choreography alternates between soulful scenes — such as touching pas de deux — and energetic, thrilling group numbers filled with technical virtuosity that highlights the artists' skill.

The performance unfolds in accordance with the original plot: Romeo's gaze meets Juliet's, and despite the feud between their families, a love is born that fate seeks to destroy. The ending is tragic, but love still triumphs in the poignant final scene, where the lovers, holding hands, walk through a beam of light. Gold and silver — symbols of the feuding houses — shine on stage, turning tragedy into a celebration of the power of emotion.

The ballet stands out for its exquisite, expressive design and the powerful performances of all the characters. The dancers subtly convey the emotions and tension that drive the story, giving the audience a deep and moving experience.
